March 22, 2003
The following are the reconstructed Minutes of the March 22, 2003 Goldenvale
Althing. I apologize that these are not as complete as my Minutes have
been in the past, but my notebook has officially grown legs and moved itself to
a location unbeknownst to myself and others. When the renegade notebook
chooses to surface again, I will post completed minutes at that time.
Item #1 - Petitioning Groups
Each group was discussed in so far as pros, cons, location, and communication
status and then voted on individually.
Storm's Hammer - This group was accepted. Welcome to the Kingdom of
Goldenvale!
Raven's Horizon - This group was accepted. Welcome to the Kingdom of
Goldenvale!
BloodSpyre - This group was not accepted at this time.
Shadowed Grove - This group was not accepted at this time.
Red Hand - This group was not accepted at this time.
According to our Kingdom Antique (Sir Amren... hehehe) Qualinost and North
Shield have been accepted shires for sometime now, and therefore no vote was
needed. I apologize for the confusion surrounding these two groups.
Petitioning groups that were not accepted into the Kingdom of Goldenvale at this
Althing are more than welcome to maintain their petitioning status with
Goldenvale. It is requested, however, that should a group seek different
sponsorship that they notify Goldenvale of their intentions.
***Monarch's Note***
Goldenvale is currently only interested in groups that are ready, willing, and
able to maintain monthly contact with the Kingdom proper.
Item #2 - Kingdom Althing Agenda
The suggestion that items must be placed on the Althing Agenda in order to be
discussed was not accepted, in consideration of the fact that Althings should be
open to spur of the moment, emergency issues. Althing Agendas will still
be posted as they have been right along, however, in order to give the best
possible chance for proxy votes to be submitted.
Item #3 - Crown Qualification Arts & Science Scoring
Dame Fionna's challenge of the previous Althing's decision to lower the required
A&S score of 5 to 3 on a 1-10 scale for Crown Qualifications did not pass.
It was, however, clarified that "3" on a 1-10 scale should now be
considered to be an average entry, leaving more room at the top of the 1-10
scale for quality entries and making it more difficult to earn higher scores.
It was also suggested that this new scoring system be given a chance, at least,
at the next Goldenvale Crown Qualifications.
I, once again, apologize for the actions of my notebook...
