Here in-lies the Althing minutes of October 18th, 2003...
Item #1) A protest lodged by Sir Brandobis, via Sir Amren, stating that the
populace was not duly notified as to the change in time of this Althing.
This was refuted by Dame Fionna and Syr Sanchez, as Dame Fionna had been duly
notifying everyone she could since 3 weeks ago. Then, it was mentioned
that New Hampshire State Incorporation Laws required a simply majority (51%) of
voting members to be present in order for a working (voting) meeting to take
place. As this quoram was not met at the scheduled time of 11:00 AM, the
Althing was set aside until 1:09 PM when such a quoram was met.
Item #2) It was brought forth by Dame Katala that the Great Eastern Bid system
is faulty and that something should be done to fix this problem for future
years. Dame Katala suggested that Goldenvale and all of her sub-group's
names be placed in a hat and that a single name be chosen from the hat.
The group chosen would be given the opportunity to run Great Eastern for that
year, or decline the opportunity. If they opted to run Great Eastern, the
populace of that group would choose people within their group to run Great
Eastern and see the process through to the end. As an alternate option,
Sir Amren suggested that perhaps we should, instead of picking from a hat, move
through Goldenvale and her groups in order of size/age. (Meaning oldest
Duchy to newest Duchy, oldest Barony to newest Barony, oldest Shire to newest
Shire...)
a) Vote as to whether or not the Great Eastern Bid system is faulty:
Yea - 6, Nay - 0, Abstain - 4
b) Those in favor of choosing a sub-group from a hat - 0
Those in favor of choosing a sub-group by size/age - 6
Abstain - 5
c) Squire Wolfen and Dame Fionna will compile a list of Goldenvale's sub-groups
by size/age.
Item #3) Squire Goliath welcomed everyone to bring written, well thought out
proposals of how to define "Shot in Motion" for the Kingdom of
Goldenvale. Meaning, what angle/plane need to be broken in order for a
shot to be considered "in motion." The topic will be fully
discussed next month.
This item did not require a vote.
Item #4) Dame Fionna requested that the incorrect notation of the required War
Events for Crown Candidates be changed to accurately reflect the Althing Notes
of February 22, 2003.
This item did not require a vote.
Item #5) The Weapons Covers issue... returns... Winter is coming and
Squire Wolfen, Champion of Goldenvale would like to make weapon covers mandatory
(with the exception of formed weapons) for the winter.
Yea- 2, Nay - 4, Abstain - 5
Item #6) Sir Brandobis suggested that we strike the active vs. inactive status
of members from the Corpora entirely.
Yea - 4, Nay - 3, Abstain - 2
a) It was suggested that in order to be able to vote in an election, that a
dues-paid member should not miss more than 12 weeks in the 6 month period
previous to the election.
Yea - 4, Nay - 4, Abstain - 2 (King Syr Sanchez broke the tie created, in favor
of "yea".)
Item #7) Sir Brandobis then suggested that the Goldenvale Corpora be dissolved
entirely and that Goldenvale utilize the Burning Lands Corpora.
Yea - 3, Nay - 5, Abstain - 2
Thanks all for those that showed to the Althing, a special thanks to those that
showed on time.
